Dr. Thomas Ryan cruise speaker information?

Dr. Thomas Ryan was the speaker on our recent Island Princess cruise into the Panama canal. I have been trying to find information on him since he said he had written several books with titles that interested me. I cannot find any reference to him on Google or Amazon.

I have access (right this very minute!) to a large university library database. If you give me a title or at least some words in it, or a topic, I can try a search for you, but there are probably a bazillion Thomas Ryans, so name alone won't help.

He said that he wrote some What if books, such as What if Hitler had won WWII, or What if Kennedy had not been assassinated. OI think he was a professor of history
