Take a look: Photos: Visiting St. George Village Botanical Garden in St. Croix (Friday 12.30.2011) Sweeny's Safari Tours welcomed us to St. Croix - sightseeing and learning about St. Croix's history, cultural traditions, politics, botany, and more ($40.00 USD/pax plus entrance fees). Tour started at the Pier in FREDERIKSTED and we headed to our first stop: The Cruzan Rum Distillery ($5.00 USD/pax tour fee)- producing the world's finest rum since 1650. 2. Then, we decided to trade the stop at the Crane Bay Beach for a visit of the famous The St. George Village Botanical Garden ($5.00 USD/pax entrance fee) located on the grounds of an 18th century sugar plantation. Smelled the fragrance blooming in the tropical rainforest, witnessed the beauty and brilliant colors of orchids and hibiscus, seen the drama of the cactus garden and learned from our tour guide the many medicinal uses of the plants (i.e. aloe). - See short VIDEO here: View photo album (270)
