What is the quickest way to disembark for tours on shore?

I have been reading a lot about tenders and numbers... what exactly takes place before getting to a port... I would love to avoid long lines and hordes of people getting off. How does Carnival go about doing this, especially at Grand Cayman Island. Looking to book ahead with a private tour.

Usually the passengers that book the tours directly with Carnival get priority debarkation.

In order to get a tender ticket they tell you to get down to the lounge 45 minutes before you would like to be on shore. We did this for Grand Cayman and things wree going so smoothly that as soon as we got our tender # it was called...we were headed towards the shore in less than 5 minutes.

We noticed that Carnival had about 6-7 local tenders going to the two ships they had in port and they held a lot of people. The other ships were using their own tenders/lifeboats off the ships and only had two going per ship so they seemed to have a slower process.
