Beaches in Belize close to cruise port?

Hi everyone,

 

First time in Belize. Are there any nice public beaches close the port? :confused:

Unfortunately not. There is a large reef system that over the millinium has kept surf from creating beaches on the mainland near the port area. If you can, book an excursion to one of the outer islands, Goff Cay, Bannister, and enjoy the beach from there.:)
