k9clnr Posted February 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Has anyone been to the Riu Palace Beach Resort in Nassau Bahamas ? Any advice as to whether the all-inclusive day pass is worth it??? Is there beach volleyball at the resort???
Speedvixen8 Posted February 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I'm considering this all inclusive resort also. It looks nice but would be greatful for some more information from someone who's been there. Hopefully you will get some replys!!

jacksmom09 Posted March 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2012 I am thinking about booking this thru Island marketing and would love to know more about it and if it is worth it!
bobsfamily Posted March 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2012 If you were to rank the 4 AI's on Nassau I think it would go: Sandals - $110 (or more) pp til 6pm RIU - $75 pp til 6pm - same beach as Atlantis Breezes - $60 pp til 6pm (could be $70) on Cable Beach - nice beach - rundown buildings - resort needs updating but booze and food should be OK Paradise Island resort - $50 pp til 6pm - in the harbour, beach/water not the best, hotel run down, local beer/rum/drinks... ScubaGirl says no go. Have heard for a drunkfest it's worth it. Before going thru Island Marketing I would email at the address provided above. davlow06 Posted April 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2012 I'm surprised that of all the people on this forum, there isn't a post from someone who has been to the RIU. I'm also considering this, as it sounds like a decent alternative to Blue Lagoon, mainly due to time issues with Blue Lagoon and when my cruise arrives in Nassau at 12 on 04/07. I'm just bumping this back up to the top to see if anyone that has been there might see this and let everyone know what they thought of it. scubagirrl Posted April 4, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 4, 2012 i am also trying to decide between breezes and Riu .... Riu is all inlcuisve booze and food too right?? Right. Breezes is 14 and older.. no kids.. RUI is family based.. you'll see kids, couples, singles etc. Personally I prefer the beach at Breezes. RUI is more relaxing. Bimmie Girl Posted April 5, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Which one? Breezes or Rui? we want relaxing, drinks on the beach, good food, to be waited on, possibly messages, so which one is best?

I think the RUI has a spa, not sure about breezes. These are not high end luxury resorts..
kareymd Posted April 5, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Does anyone know if the spa services at Riu are included? I would guess not BUT if they are that might be the deciding factor for me between Riu and Breezes ;)
kareymd Posted April 5, 2012 #12 Share Posted April 5, 2012 My issue with deciding between the two is that I want to visit Atlantis, the Queen Stairs and then to Breezes for the rest of the day. I do not know the location between all these things so I thought Riu might be better because of its location to Atlantis

As for "visiting" Atlantis you have to pay nowadays for anything other than the casino. If you pay to go to Atlantis I would do that only. Queen Stairs is downtown and Breezes is on Cable Beach even further from Atlantis. RIU is on Paradise Island, so if going to the casino then RIU would be the place to visit. Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted April 8, 2012 #23 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Where do I get more info to book Breezes? We rode the jitney to Breezes & bought a daypass for $60 at the front desk. We had a wonderful time there.

babie22559 Posted April 10, 2012 #25 Share Posted April 10, 2012 We are considering this for our cruise next week. We've already done Cable Beach, Atlantis, Sandals, Breezes, so we're looking for something different. From someone who's been to RIU.... Must we book in advanced? I'm thinking the Island Marketing takes a cut and it might be cheaper onsite?? Also, the Island Marketing suggests taking a cab for $12 each way. Is there a better/cheaper way to get there? Finally, is it within walking distance to Atlantis? I'm thinking to start at Atlantis casino and walk to RIU. The map shows it near by, but I can't tell for sure. Thanks for the feedback!
