Runfold Posted February 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2012 At last got hubby down to TA and booked our 25th wedding anniversary cruise for Sept. Going on Dream Moorish Delights/Roman Epic So now to trawl through here for hints and tips. For my first question - how many nights are there that you need to dress up for? and if you need a DJ can you take this in its cover as hand luggage  ? Only 216 Days to go :p:p

For my first question - how many nights are there that you need to dress up for? and if you need a DJ can you take this in its cover as hand luggage  ? Only 216 Days to go :p:p Usually one formal night per week - often the sea day. You can wear a DJ - many do although suits are quite common too but I doubt you can take it through on hand luggage as they say 1 item of hand luggage per passenger (of given dimensions which I think a suit cover would exceed in length and width if not depth). Of course you may get away with it if you take it in place of your 1 piece of hand luggage. I don't think I've seen passengers taking suits in covers onto the plane as hand luggage though. It's common place if you are sailing from the UK but there isn't any restriction on luggage for that. Congratulations on your forthcoming anniversary - and I'm sure you'll have a great time and a most memorable anniversary! :)

Only 216 Days to go :p:p So you chose to do a two-week cruise instead of a Stay and Cruise then. Good decision! ;) Both are great itineraries. As kruzseeka has said, as you're doing a two week cruise, there will be two formal nights, both on your day's at sea. I've never seen anyone take a DJ as hand luggage before so not too sure about this. They may start complaining that it's not the right dimensions etc.
Calomax Posted February 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2012 But the formal nights aren't compulsory. We took no formal clothes and ate in the Lido (as we always did anyway).
Runfold Posted February 11, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Yea the DJ as hand luggage was hubby's idea, didn't think you could do it he'll just have to squash it in his suitcase :D
