Using ext device to watch movies....

We will be sailing on ROS soon and were hoping to load up the iPad with some movies/kids shows for the kids to watch in their room - I read somewhere that the external ports are disabled - has anyone been able to plug in a device to watch a show?

Ships that I've been on the old CRT TVs did not even have any external ports. Just cable input and that was inaccessible. Newer LCD TVs may have inputs (disabled). Even with cable only it may be possible to use an RF modulator if you can get to the connector on the TV. These usually allow viewing on channel 3 or 4.

I don't think they disable the imputs, not necessary.

The remotes don't have a function selection.

I have been able to use a DVD a few times in the past but all the TV are different from room to room.

I would try the universal remote

Oh OK, I've read conflicting threads about universal remotes sometimes working and sometimes not working? I thought this process was going to be a lot easier than it actually seems to be
