Hawkins Island Carnival

Hi.....Was interested in an excursion that is on the list, but only available to sign up for onboard. Sounds like it could be fun!

Anyone know what day, time and price this event is? Not much information is provided on the web site list.

Better yet, has anyone gone on this trip? What was it like?

We went to Hawkins Island last year when we sailed on the Nordic Empress (now Empress of the Seas). I can sum it up in one word.....

It was one of the best excursions we went on. It is a 3-4 hour long non-stop island party. Great food, all you can eat, open bar, live island music, dancing and more. It was so much fun we hated to see it end. We partied the whole way back on the boat. It was great!!! I believe last year it was about $85 each with RCCL. That included the boat that picked us up at the ship, all the rum swizzles you could drink on the way there, the party, food and bar, and the boat back. Well worth the money if your looking for fun.

Surprised you can only sign up on board. I'm wondering whether it's because it's fully booked and they'll see if anyone cancels and then sell tickets. When we sailed on Celebrity Zenith to Bermuda we could pre-order. It is a very popular tour and does sell out fast. If you do go ...enjoy.

I guess on NCL you can only sign up on board since we were able to pre-book for another excursion online but this tip had on board reservation only next to it. The DH and I will definitely go on this one. I'll be the one dancing with the Gombeys and my DH in my light up flip flops. Hi, I am also cruising to Bermuda but on The Crown. I also am going to Hawkins Island Carnival but not on the night the ship offers it. It is offered on Wednesday night which is also the same night as the Hamilton Street Fair or Harbor night as it is described in your excursion booklet. The Harbor night also seems to be an event not to be missed. Therefore, I am doing both.

I suggest you might want to think about booking the Hawkins Island tour on you own on Tuesday evening and then the Harbor night excursion on Wednesday evening which is offered by your ship. You simply take a ferry from St. Georges over to Hamilton to pick up the Hawkins Island excursion boat.

Remember, its not scary to do excursions on your own in Bermuda because the ship will not be leaving you.

dsawyer thanks for the info! We might do that if we can't get it through the ship. Actually the little want to be Gombey dancer (me) will drag my poor DH to both the street fair in St. Georges and the one in Hamilton. I don't want my light up flip flops to go to waste!
