Has anyone stayed at any of the following hotels in New Orleans?

Sheraton New Orleans Hotel

500 Canal Street

W New Orleans - French Quarter

316 Chartres Street

W New Orleans

333 Poydras Street

The Westin New Orleans Canal Place

100 Rue Iberville

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

We have stayed at the W on Poydras, the Westin, and the Sheraton.

The W is a pretty upscale place, very modern decor, tends to attract a younger crowd, IMO. Very convenient to Harrah's casino if you like to gamble.

The Westin is your average Westin convention hotel. Could be a Westin anywhere. Average but comfortable rooms, and about as quiet as you can get in N.O. Best thing about it is the location. French Quarter to one side, downtown to the other, Mississippi right there.

The Sheraton is also your average mid-range hotel. Location isn't quite as good as the Westin, but it's not much worse. French Quarter starts right across the street, other downtown areas not too far away, Canal St. streetcar right out in front, Starbucks in the lobby.

If I had to choose between the Sheraton and the Westin I'd take the Westin.

I stayed at the Sheraton 5-6 years ago and loved it. Location was great right across from French Quarter. I loved the lobby area and the starbucks, it was very open and relaxing... Back then I paid well over $100/night so I'm stoked that I just booked it for $87.. Of course with Hotwire you have no clue what hotel you are getting. I selected a four star hotel and ended up back on Canal St. Did I say how happy I am to be back there? The hotel website mentioned that the hotel is being remodeled in 2012, so I'm hoping that by November it will be mostly renovated. I thought the place was excellent then so woo-hoo can't wait to go back!
