Munchkinstutu Posted February 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2012 We are sailing on the Celebrity Century from Sydney to Honolulu March 6 - 23, 2012. The ship's snorkeling excursions are expensive and limited. Can anyone give advice on how to go snorkeling on our own in the following ports? We'd welcome advice on tour operators that you'd recommend, or locations that are within walking distance of the pier where the ship docks (or tenders dock): Papeete, Tahiti Moorea, French Polynesia Bora Bora, French Polynesia Raiatea, French Polynesia Also, if anyone out there has done this cruise before and recommends a ship organized snorkeling excursion, please let us know about it. Thanks.

Rare Kinkacruiser Posted February 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2012 In Raiatea if you can dive snorkel (sounds like you are experienced), there is a rwesort hotel about a mile south of the main docking area. This is part of a post from this board. "We had cruisemates that went to the Hawaiki Nui hotel to snorkel and said it had GREAT snorkeling." If you are up to USD 140 for a full day private excursion, I can recommend Bruno's tour. He will take you to the best snorkeling spots around Tahaa (including the drift snorkel in the coral gardens) and provide a good lunch. http://tahaa.net/?p=-

Emdee Posted February 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2012 In Moorea take a taxi to the Hilton and snorkel there for the day. You can get a day pass or sometimes they let you use the facilities if you have lunch there.
