Anyone currently on The Dawn?

Last I read they had cancelled Samana and rumors of engine trouble. Sorry- I am incorrect. I read that from a year old post :)

No worries! I thought the same thing when I first saw it appear on the front page a few days ago. The fact that the first post is February 12 definitely makes it seem recent!

I believe the Dawn departs out of Miami today. We sail on the 26th. :)

Just off the Dawn this morning. No engine problems whatsoever. Even though we did go to Samana, Cayo Laventado was booked by a group who chartered the Pearl. Only dissapointment for the cruise.

I believe the problem engine was replaced in the Dawn's last drydock.

I remember seeing a show on tv where they were documenting how they were replacing an engine on a large ship. I don't know if it was the Dawn, but it was fascinating. They had to cut a hole in the side of the ship to remove and install the engines.

We were on this same cruise, although it was dissappointment it was still a wonderful cruise....Samana itself isnt worth the stop unless you can go to Cayo Laventado. I am sure in a few years it will be a nice stop once its built up more.....
