honeycutt264 Posted February 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Hi, my family of five is taking a cruise to the E. Carribbean for the first time. Our ports are Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Martin. What do you recommend to see and do for a family? My children are 10,12, and 14. Thanks!! Ms411 Posted February 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2012 They might enjoy the Pirate Museum in Nassau (I've read good reviews, but haven't been in it), maybe the zip line on St Martin, and some type of fast water activity on St Thomas like jet skis, mini boats, snorkel scooters, etc. Or, Sapphire Beach on St Thomas is a good beach for snorkeling. There are thousands of posts about people's experiences at that beach, so you can get a good idea of what to expect.
honeycutt264 Posted February 20, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Would you take the family to St. Thomas or venture off to St. John's? We have never been to the eastern carribbean. We just want to have fun! Thanks!
Lsimon Posted February 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Take them on a dail sail on a sailboat! There are quite a few which sail from St. Thomas and do scenic tours around the area with snorkeling or swimming stops and include lunch. Search this forum for Day sail. Most of these take a maximum of 6 guests so your groups size is just right and likely would be private for your family. Our favorite is the Rumbaba. We just want to have fun! Thanks! It's St. John. If you ask someone to take you to St. John's it will cost you thousands of dollars in air fare. Since you haven't been to either one, do St. Thomas this time. If you don't get mugged and come back, try St. John on the next trip.
