Ok...I posted this on the "Need Help Using The Boards? Ask Here!" board a few days ago and it has not gotten a single response... :o

I am REALLY hoping someone can help me! I am trying to post my new countdown clock and - as you can see - all that shows is the file name . Funny thing is - if I click on the first part of the link the clock then shows - but in a seperate window .

This is the same site and clock style that I have used MANY times before. So.....can someone tell me - what am I doing wrong??

nope. and the same issue happened again to me. didn't bother to post it.

Love these boards.....most of the time ;). Have certainly learned - and shared - ALOT since I joined. But - this is frustrating .

I originally wondered if clocks other than the CC ones were "not allowed" - but I still see many posters with the style clock I am trying to use. So that must not be it.

I wonder if there is something wrong with the code for my clock - or if there is some specific way to post it. I just don't know enough about how it all works to figure it out :o.

Go to CP user at top of page. Go to Edit option. Scroll down to Thread Display options and make sure the show signature and show images boxes are checked

You have to remove some of the HTML at the end. I can't remember which, if you post the whole code, I'll tell you what to remove.

THANKS!! :D

Here is the entire code as it appears on the website where the clock is created:

<center><embed src="http://www.*****/cd/ccc-vacation/show.swf?clickURL=http://www.*****/&clickLABEL=MySpace-Countdown-Clocks&flashLABEL=CountdownClockCodes&skin=http://www.*****/cd/ccc-vacation/skins/16.jpg&text=THE%20BREEZE%0D2%2E2%2E13&untilColor=6684876&textColor=6684876&datesColor=6684876&year=2013&month=1&day=2&hour=16&minute=0&second=0&x=-80&y=139" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="300" height="200" name="countdown" align="middle" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /><br><small><a href="http://www.*****/">MySpace-Countdown-Clocks</a></small></center>

Hey Happy,

I just tried out that same website with my dates and, at least in the preview, it worked just fine. So here are a couple of thoughts:

You have done this before but, just to check, you copy and paste the code into the "Edit signature" box and not the "Signature picture box", correct?

Assuming that you did this, I agree with the prior poster that a part of the code did not copy over. When I made my practice clock, I did copy over the entire code and did not have any problems. So I am not totally sure if code needs to be removed. What I think happened is that the initial code at the beginning

<center><embed src="

Did not copy over with the rest of the code. This would give you just text.

I would redo the clock and preview it.

Hope this helps.

Another thought:

My code looks like this:

<center><embed src="http://www.*****/cd/ccc-vacation/show.swf?clickURL=http://www.*****/&clickLABEL=MySpace-Countdown-Clocks&flashLABEL=CountdownClockCodes&skin=http://www.*****/cd/ccc-vacation/skins/16.jpg&text=Here%20goes%20your%20message%0DHere%20goes%20your%20message&untilColor=6724095&textColor=0&datesColor=0&year=2012&month=2&day=18&hour=16&minute=59&second=42&x=6&y=77" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="300" height="200" name="countdown" align="middle" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /><br><small><a href="http://www.*****/">MySpace-Countdown-Clocks</a></small></center>

Maybe you are missing some code from the end...

When I compare my code with yours that is what is missing.....along with </a></small></center> at the end.

But this is what I don't understand....it shows when the clock is created and when I hilight the code to be copied. But it does show in the signature box once I paste. I even tried adding it manually and when I choose "preview signature" it disappears .

NOW I am really confused  Any suggestions??

OMG......I copied the code over to Word and then to copied it again to signature and it worked!!!

I have NO idea why I can not copy it straight to the signature - but at least I have a working clock now....although I now see it needs to be tweaked a little - but I think I can take care of that.

THANK YOU ALL for helping me figure it out! You guys are the best. ;) :D

Just an FYI- if you had hit the a/A button in the right hand corner prior to copying & pasting into signature-then hit the button again it would have loaded it without having to put it into a word doc.

Happy Sailing :)

Good to know!! I will try to remember - and save that step - next time. THANKS! ;) :D
