Any Horseback Riding Experiences / Recommendations?

Hi Everybody:

 

Tavelling on TP September 1, 2005. Enjoy horseback riding and wondering if there are any of you have recent experiences on the islands. Looking for a half-day kind of excursion, perhaps with lunch. Any help would be appreciated.

I just found out you have to be less than 180 pounds, or you cannot ride the hourse....finw for me, but not my fiancee who is 6'5". :rolleyes:

My husband and I did the horseback riding on Raitea with Sebastien as our guide. The route took us along the coast road a little and up a mountain. The view would have been marvellous if it had been a clear day. There is no oppurtunity to get above a walking pace but a peaceful way to view the island. The horses are well cared for and have English saddles. We were back after a couple of hours enabling us to go by water taxi for $25 pax to a little motu for snorkelling that we found in the visitors' centre.

Is it true that you have to be less than 180 pounds? That was my dream to go horseback riding along the beachside....and now its shattered, hee hee.
