specialty restaurants & excursions, when do you pay?

Just wondering as I am working on our budget for our August cruise. When we pre-book specialty restaurants and select shore excursions do we get charged for them at that time or after we actually go to the restaurant/excursion? I know other items like pop card and RCI merchandise is charged at the time I add it.

Yes, you get charged for specialty restaurants and shore excursions when you book them.

ok, thank you. So if you end up cancelling a restaurant reservation or the ship skips a port due to weather does the amount get refunded to my credit card or refunded via OBC???

We have cancelled reservations and cancelled excursions - in both cases were were refunded via OBC.

If you cancel BEFORE you board, it will be refunded to the card you charged it to....once on the ship, it goes to your seapass account.

Good point! We cancelled after boarding so I wasn't aware of the alternatve Good to know!
