Moody Gardens Hotel & Spa vs San Luis Resort & Spa in Galveston

Trying to figure out which one to choose for our pre-cruise in July. Anyone have experience with either of these places? Help!!

We stayed here the beginning of the month. We stayed Friday and Sat nite before our Carnival Magic. It was beautiful. We loved it. Service was wonderful. Plenty of places to eat right there and next door. Hilton is the sister company. They have free shuttle to the cruise port. Just pay tip. I would go back anyday. We were on the 14th floor. Right across from the beach. Nice pool. Right on seawall.

They are both very nice but I would suggest the San Luis because it is more centrally located.

I've been to Moody Gardens a few times but not before a cruise. I live fairly close. If you have kids and plan on being in Galveston for a day or two it's destination resort in itself. There is a really nice aquarium and a waterpark. It's kind of expensive to me.
