tammymacb Posted March 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2012 Since it's technically a holiday. We sail on Saturday the 7th and have ES rates on our 3 rooms. I'd guess that I can put in price drops until Thursday the 5th. Or will it actually be Wednesday the 4th as Friday is a holiday?
bmckim Posted March 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I would say it is a business day, Not a holiday according to the Feds. http://www.opm.gov/operating_status_schedules/fedhol/2012.asp
cubbysan Posted March 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I work for a bank and it is not a Federal Holiday - banks are open.
firefly333 Posted March 1, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I very much doubt there is a hard and fast rule for this despite people's guesses. One person got a drop only 24 hours before the cruise on a Saturday. You just never know. Depends on how busy they are too.
tammymacb Posted March 1, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I just assumed Good Friday was a holiday because I work in an ER and I have to work Friday - because it's my Holiday. However, Easter isn't. I'm thinking my hospital calls it a holiday to give the admins a 3 day weekend.
jwalk03 Posted March 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2012 Good Friday counts as a biz days. I work for a bank as well and we get 10 paid holidays a year (even Columbus Day! lol) but Good Friday is not one of them. The Fed is open, NYSE is open, USPS is open. That would explain why it's a holiday for them.
