Car rental Miami to Ft Lauderdale

We will be disembarking in Miami from a transatlantic cruise in November and intend staying one night on South Beach before leaving for Ft Lauderdale where we will be for 2 days before we leave on another cruise in the Caribbean. We understand that we don't need a car in Miami, but would like to rent a car on the day we leave Miami and use it to drive to Ft Lauderdale. We do want to have a car in Ft Lauderdale to have a look around the area. Where would we find a car rental office near the South Beach area, and would we be able to drop the vehicle off at Ft Lauderdale port before we leave for our Caribbean cruise?

There are a few rental agencies that are in SOBE rent there then drop off at FLL Airport take cab or shuttle to Port Everglades easy peasy.

 

Alamo, Budget and Dollar if not mistaken in the SOBE area.

Thank you so much for that useful info, I will get in touch with those agencies. We have booked hotel accommodation near FLL airport, so getting to the port shouldn't be a problem!:)
