skyw Posted March 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2012 I used to book a cruise and then wait for the military discounts to come out. When they did, I would call and change my reservation to reflect the discount. Is this possible anymore? I seem to recall a change in booking policy but I wasn't sure how it worked. spookwife Posted March 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2012 I believe not. you can get an upgrade if the new pricing is less than what you paid originally. but as far as I understand it there is no more OBC given if the price drops after final payment is due. I have been keeping an eye on my cruise but my Category and above sold out long ago, so there was no reduction in price at all.
cruisenfever Posted March 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Unless it says "new bookings only, any special rate, be it military, senior, residency or police/fire can be applied to an existing reservation up until final payment. Your cruise fare is repriced using the new rate. If , after final payment, you see that a higher cabin category is priced the same as or lower than what you paid, you can request an upgrade if they are available.
