Emerald Pool: What to Wear

I&MsMom

Recommended Posts

We are leaving for a cruise on the Destiny in two weeks. Because we have small children, we're limiting our "hiking" to a trip to the Emerald Pool.

I was wondering what you all would recommend for footwear: would swim shoes work (the aqua sox type)? How muddy is it? How dirty are the kids likely to get? (Assuming I prevent them from literally rolling around on the ground! LOL)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Definitely water shoes! There is a hike involved through the rain forest and it can get very slippery. I would also recommend bringing a poncho and a towel to protect your cameras, etc in case of a heavy rain....

You're very welcome :) The path was slippery due to both mud and water on the stones. It was raining very heavy when we went though. It wasn't a difficult hike, just slippery a bit. We learned an awful lot about the plants and flowers along the way, too cuz our guide with Reyno was extremely knowledgable. It was alot of fun and educational....
