CRUISE4JANE Posted March 9, 2012 Author #26 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks. I think I will take a small canvas beach bag that won't look as ridiculous as a purse. I would hate to keep going to my cabin if I needed anything. I think next cruise I ought to get on the Lido Deck. Right now I am booked on the Empress Deck
cowprintrabbit Posted March 9, 2012 #27 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I carry a beach bag up to the pool, but anywhere else my S&S card goes in my paperback (never without one) and my lipstick goes in DH's pocket! I consider it my vacation from not having to carry business cards, doggie poop bags, spare food and all the other miscellaneous junk that finds its way into my purse... USNUZULOOSE Posted March 9, 2012 #28 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I use my back pack. It holds my camera and any other needs.
itzgeralyn Posted March 9, 2012 #29 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Yes, I do. I carry a small coach cross body when dressed and usually bring a tote type for going to the pool. I've never felt out of place & have seen many others with some manner of bag.
lotusbogardi Posted March 9, 2012 #30 Share Posted March 9, 2012 This is the exact purse that I carry with me on vacation. http://www.ebags.com/product/baggallini/teeneebagg-crinkle-nylon/47361 There is a small pocket on the backside that a card fits in perfectly, that's where my sign and sail card goes. There is a strap inside that holds my blistex. There is also enough room to put the days receipts, tip money, my small HD2 camera and gum and medicine. I. Just. Fell. In. Love. :D

My SIL gave me a brown one for Christmas. I love, love, love it!:D It holds a lot more than you would think. I put a lip gloss, hair comb, small mirror, a small tin with my meds, credit cards, ID, and cash in it. Did I say I love, love, love it?:D I love the strap that comes with it that can be adjusted to turn the little bag into a cross-body bag. It also has two little straps on the back of it so that you can slip a belt through them and wear as a belt bag if you want to. Once again, I love it! desertskies Posted March 9, 2012 #32 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I am in the wristlets group. The purse gets to be on vacation from me. :)
cv322 Posted March 9, 2012 #33 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I have 2 crossbody small purses I use while cruising. A woven tropical type for caribbean cruises & a red leather one for when I cruise north. I also bring a beaded evening bag for elegant nights. I use these to hold casino cash, my S&S card & reading glasses.
cherbear4000 Posted March 9, 2012 #34 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I bring a couple of small purses for use on board, one casual, one for dressy. I use it to carry my camera, S&S card, a small flask with my BV liquor so I don't have to keep going back to the room, lipstick, small hairbrush (it gets windy on the deck) etc.
Tbay-eh Posted March 9, 2012 #35 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Carry around a beach type bag for sunglasses, suncream, book, camera, cigarettes and lighter, plus a very small wallet for ones (tips), S&S card. But no obvious purse type thing.

I usually wear mine as a cross body bag, as it's the most comfortable for me to reach in and get what I need. I love that the strap extends itself long enough to go around my widest assets :) I love my bag as much as you do, I totally know what you mean. I need to buy a few more of them. If you shop for reward points, ebags participates in many of them.. in particular I earn Amtrak reward points with ebag purchases.
sunshine252 Posted March 9, 2012 #37 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Not a chance. S&S goes on a retractable clip-on badge holder & I don't need anything else... I'm a minimalist... :D

rutgersgirl27 Posted March 9, 2012 #39 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I use a wristlet to carry my card, and my camera. I feel...off when I don't have a bag of some kind. Also, I like to wear cute little sundresses whenever possible, and I haven't any with pockets.
UGADawg10 Posted March 10, 2012 #40 Share Posted March 10, 2012 I'm with the majority....I bring my purse along with me, but it usually stays in the room. I highly suggest the Vera Bradly Zip ID case (I carry this around the ship with my S&S and cash, etc) and Hipster purses (GREAT for wondering around ports...I feel safe that everything I have is near me). Butterbean1000 Posted March 10, 2012 #41 Share Posted March 10, 2012 I use a little cross the body bag when I am not lugging a beach bag or a back pack. It holds my camera/phone/chapstick and my ss card. ditto Enjoy your cruise

skye02 Posted March 10, 2012 #45 Share Posted March 10, 2012 While on a cruise with my dad and his ....umm.... girlfriend (many more stories available from our 5 days with this crazy lady) carried this humongous white vinyl purse EVERYWHERE. Normally, I wouldn't have given it another thought but everything this woman did drove me crazy. I mean, if you're just leaving the cabin for lunch and you're coming right back AND my dad had the room key, WHY would she have to haul that 50 pound bag to the Lido deck? CRUISE4JANE Posted March 10, 2012 Author #46 Share Posted March 10, 2012 I received plenty of suggestions and again, thanks to you all. As far as at night, no purse for me as I will go right back to my cabin after eating and dress comfortably again in shorts and shirt. :)

sarahleebones Posted March 10, 2012 #50 Share Posted March 10, 2012 I'm a big fan of the Happy Cow bags. http://www.happycow.com.au/ My two favs are: http://www.happycow.com.au/leather_hip_bags.html http://www.happycow.com.au/leather-pouch-bag.html I used to use cross body but such a PITA in the way that they always seem to be a "boob separator" and for me, I don't really need anymore attention there ;) Once I went to these, I can't seem to go back to a regular purse. I use them not only on vacations, but at home too. I clip my keys to them when shopping and go. Never have to worry about straps cutting in, or the BS effect.
