Tour of St. John's

It is very easy to take a cab to Red Hook and then the ferry and then do what you want when you get to St. John. Costs, needless to say, are much cheaper doing it on your own.

However, if you want to not have to be concerned about time and missing ship, etc., then do the ship's tour. You don't save that much money. It is just do you like your own timing and not hoards of people or not, which I think should affect your decision more than the cost.

Also, remember, if St. Thomas happens to be the last port you visit before returning to Florida, you will have to go through the miserable experience of immigration before you can get off the ship after it docks!

Whatever you decide, you will love St. John.
