How do we pickup people in NY?

We are picking up our friends after a trans-atlantic cruise. Where do we park at the pier in NY? What is the best arrangements to make? Have them call when they are on the street or park and them pick them up?

Have them call you as they are disembarking, you do not want to park and try and find them.....it's always a zoo. Try and meet across the street from the terminal. We usually meet our limo driver on the corner of 50th street. He parks, if possible, or "circles the wagons" until we find each other. Good luck!

As long as the weather is nice, have them meet you across the street. You do not want to get stuck in the mess as the terminal.

Hubby and I are being picked up by a friend upon disembarkation, for lunch, before going to the airport.

Would it be easier for us to get a cab outside the terminal, and have him take us to the restaurant? I don't want to get our friend in the middle of all that mess, but I'm not sure how difficult it is getting a cab.

Any ideas?
