Any Big Carnival Changes?

I haven't been on CC much since my last cruise. It depresses me when I don't have another one booked LOL!

Anyway, now that we are once again on the countdown, I can return!

Biggest question - anything major happen with Carnival lately? Anything I need to be aware of? Galveston departure changes?

I love the info I get from CC!

Destiny is going to become the Sunshine after the largest rebuild in company history. Hotly debated topic for a few reasons, which I won't weigh in on.

Bon Voyage prices are way up for liquor.

Other than that, what you missed here on CC is:

-People don't like chair hogs.

-Various ways to smuggle alcohol, including Shampbooze Bottles and the always fun Rum Runners.

-People are very bad for smuggling alcohol.

-Smokers are bad.

-If you have a less than glowing view of Carnival, you should be dragged behind a horse, according to some.

-People don't dress well enough in the MDR.

-People shouldn't be forced to have to dress up in the MDR.

-Carnival is the Bestest Ever!

-Carnival is the Worstest Ever!

-Do you ruin everybody's chances at blackjack if you split 10's.?

-Mexico is the worst place ever, how can anybody go there?

-Mexico is fine in the tourist areas how can anybody think otherwise?

-Is Carnival the WalMart/Holiday Inn/Motel 6/Denny's/Chili's of the cruise industry?

I think that about covers it since November. Anything else I missed?

Make a sticky for each topic, and that's pretty much the jist of it. Dont forget about the ES Rate, and OBC.

The safety drill we had in February was longer then previous drills.

Ours was the opposite last week on the Spirit, quite a bit shorter than in the past. I guess it can vary by who's sailing, the CD, etc..

Maybe the should or shouldn't one get a passport (cause the hospital birth certificate with the raised seal issued by the government has always been good before but now it can't be found and we leave tomorrow on Sunday but we have sailed Carnival before and saw they let others on without one and we don't think an emergency will raise while we are on vacation and won't have to fly home because we bought insurance this time) or something to that nature threads that floated around.

Ah, yes! Fortunately we are the owners of passports which stay locked away until right before the cruise... (of course I check them multiple times before that!)
