Mine was in May 2000 on the Inspiration. I will never forget that experience. It was my husband, me, son and daughter-in-law. We had a blast. Loved the ship. Loved Cayman Islands and I went up Dunn's Falls. Would I go up the falls again....................not in a million years, but at the time I started it, I couldn't finish until I got to the top. Wow! What an experience. Glad I did it this one time and only time, I guarantee it.

2003 on the Carnival Jubilee which is no longer in service. It was our 35th anniversary. I spent the first few minutes wondering if I would get seasick. Fortunately, I didn't. They still had the Midnight Buffet where they went all out making all kinds of decorations/sculptures out of food. They would open the line a couple of hours before so everyone could ooh and aah and take pictures, then at twelve all of the artistic display was eaten. There was also a strict dress code in the MDR which was ENFORCED!!

Our 1st cruise will always be remembered because we were on 1st Disney ship to sail after 9/11. We had actually considered cancelling and some well meaning family and friends told us we were crazy to fly. Several people from our roll call brought boxes of small American flags and as we set sail people were waving them and cheering the Coast Guard boats and military helicopter that escorted us as we left port. Looking back now, many cruises later, the guests on that cruise were pretty subdued the 1st few days, but things relaxed as time passed. Two other vivid memories of that cruise were the pride in our cab driver's voice in St. Thomas as he told me about how people of St Thomas were collecting money for children of 9/11 victims and how a SW airline flight attendant on the flight down to FL suddenly got on the intercom and sang a moving rendition of "God Bless America". Not a dry eye on that plane !

I remember back in the mid 60's going to see my Aunt, Uncle, my married cuz and her husband at a bon voyage party on the ship. Then the horn would blow and the capt. would announce All Ashore Thats Going Ashore. Our family would stand on the peir and watch the tugs push the ship out. [We went three times] I still love it today. Our first cruise was on The Mardi Gras 4-28-85 seven days western carribean and four days at Disneyland. Our honeymoon. Much diifferant back then.

we used to do that when our grandparents sailed, which seemed to be all the time on all the great liners. i used to freak out when that all ashore horn would blow. what would happen if we didn't get off in time?

when i grew up, i realized that would be some problem :D, having to actually cruise!

Mine was on the Dolphin which was a cruiseline on its own. We sailed out of Miami and it was late 1988 early 1989. It was my first cruise and I loved it and like so many others got hooked. I will admit that was the smallest ship but was the best service and best crew.

Larrys was the Tropicale in 98 to Key West and Cozumel

It was a cruise sponsored by a local radio station by the MJ and BJ morning show and the whole cast was on the cruise. Ironicallly BJ eventually left the show and MJ was on his own... last month was it's last ever broadcast after 20something years :(

Mine was on Sept. 22, 2008... 5 day on the Carnival Inspiration out of Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. It was for our friends wedding. They got married on the ship and had a reception before sailaway.. it was a great cruise. Looking back, I probably should not have done the Muster drill that smashed... whoo hoo I was SOOOOO drunk from the open bar at the reception!

My first cruise was in February 2005 on Sensation. I was living in Chalmette, LA(Futher south than NOLA.) & went with my best friend & her family during Mardi Gras. For me it was a belated 30th bday present to myself & a gift for me for moving on from my cheating fiancee. We went to Calica & Cozumel. Before coming back home, I was asking when was the next cruise because I had so much fun. Did not get to cruise again until October 2010 & gone on a cruise every year since. This year will be the 1st for my sister, nephew, & his girlfriend. Can't wait. 209 days & counting. :D

Our first cruise was in 2002. Celebrated our 25th anniversary on the Inspiration. Went to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We will be taking our 4th cruise in July celebrating our 35th. Will be our third cruise on Conquest.

Always stayed in inside cabins, but went for an Ocean Suite this time.

I'm still a newbie, so mine was not that long ago.

Oct 2010 - Carnival Fascination

Window cabin on Empress deck

5 day to Bahamas (Nassau and went to Freeport instead of the scheduled Half Moon Cay due to weather)

This was first cruise for my boyfriend and I. We traveled with 5 others who had already cruised before.

Well i'm surprise there wasn't more Jubilee sailing's,i only saw 3,well i'm going to be the 4th.

My first crusie was in 2001 on the Carnival Jubilee it was a 7 day eastern cruise out of tampa.Let me just say i'm surprise this didn't scare me from cruising. We had no ac in our cabin, and there really wasn't that much to do on it,and at dinner time my mac-n-cheese fell off the tray and went every where. It was a very disappointing first cruise for me,i really hated that ship.

But we ending up getting a discount on another cruise which me,my grandmother, and my bf at the time (now husband) went on soveriegn of the seas. That cruise i really liked it was neat seeing Atlantis for the first time.So ever since then i have been hooked to cruising and can't wait to go on my 9th one this coming April with my family.

Spetember 2, 2007 out of Galveston on the Conquest with DW and some great friends(who had already cruised). No Special Reason other then to have a great time, which we did and became hooked on cruising. It was also my DW's first ever airplane experience(at the time 28 yrs old and never flown before)! We got very lucky for the entire 7 day cruise, only rained 1 afternoon, otherwise for a hurricane season western caribbean cruise to Mo Bay, Grand Cayman, & Cozumel it was amazing! What a way to get hooked into cruising!!!

SS Norway - 1984.

I had graduated from college a few years before and I had a couple of running buddies that lived in Lafayette Louisiana. At the time Lafayette was flush with oil money and was a great party scene. I would drive over from Houston almost every weekend.

We got the idea to go on a cruise. So we clipped news paper ads and all headed off to a TA. It turns out the TA was a great TA. Faced with 4 young guys in his office, the first thing he did was wad up our ads for "CHEAP CRUISE" and throw them in the trash. Then he handed us each a yellow legal pad and had us write down what we wanted out of a cruise. From there we picked a ship and then a time frame.

Week later, he calls us and says that he wanted to make our cruise a group event. We ended up with 120 people, chartering a 707 from Lafayette to Miami. I think we stayed up all night 4 out of the 7 nights of that cruise. We booked for the same week next year within a week of getting back.

My son got married on a ship during Wilma. We were told we were going out ealy as well and went to the Eastern rather than Western. Several of the wedding party (their first cruise) came back to a hotel that was demolished but their car was still in good shape. Needless to say they took the car and had to go to another hotel.

My first cruise was October 2005 Princess Star to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. It was my newly single (divorce) cruise with my DM. It was the first time I left my DD. She was 3 at the time. I got sick with a head cold and laryngitis. Not fun flying with a cold.

Needless to say Hurricane Wilma had big plans for me! We were told they were boarding early to beat the storm. We left and all was good until later that night when we were headed towards the storm. Captain came on and told us were we changing plans. We were now headed to the Eastern Carribean. San Juan, St. Thomas, and Tortola. Not bad as I have never been to any of the islands. Had a great cruise!

Came back to FLL and we had no hotel to go to. The hotel company wasn't very friendly. Wasn't sure we were going to be able to fly out the next day. Airport was closed. Well I started to freak and a guy (my guardian angel) over heard me and called the hotel he was staying at to see if they had rooms. They did but no hot water or air conditioning. They were running on a generator. No biggie, all I needed was a pool, bed and a little something to eat.(we walked over to the TGI Fridays the only place to eat.)

It was a trip to remember. I had a blast and couldn't wait to book the next one. My DD was jealous and talked for 2 years about my cruise and how she wanted to go on one. Finally took her in 2007. That was our first cruise on Carnival and we were hooked on the FUN SHIPS! :D

My first was on Carnival Sensation 10/29/95. We were celebrating our honeymoon and splurged on a Jr. Suite, cabin V9. We were supposed to have an Eastern Caribbean itinerary but due to a hurricane, we were diverted to the Western Caribbean instead and went to Cozumel, Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. I've been hooked on cruising ever since!!

First cruise was on the Sensation June 19th, 1994. Honeymoon cruise, to Cozumel, Ocho Rios and Caymen. And man was it HOT!! We will NEVER, EVER cruise in June or any of the summer months again!! Loved it. We had room #R12 I believe, it was one of the port hole rooms. We were upgraded to that!! So apparently we had booked an inside room.

Sorry that it took us so long to cruise again, we did about 5-6 years of all-inclusive resorts. Last one being Cozumel. We sat at the pool all day, watching the ships coming in and leaving....:( Came home and the next day had a cruise booked. Now we are hooked and are doing 2 per year. This year I'll be doing 3!!!!

Do you remember your 1st cruise?

Life couldn't be any better! ;)

Our first cruise was October 1999 on the Carnival Sensation. Sailed from Tampa and went to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and New Orleans.

My brother talked us into going. My DM and SD was also there. Had a wonderful time and have been hooked ever since. Great memories.

My first cruise was with 2 girlfriends on the Carnival Celebration the week of Thanksgiving 1989, out of Miami, to San Juan, St Thomas and St Martin. I don't know if we were ever sober the whole cruise. :D

Many years later, talked the hubby into trying a cruise, and our first family experience wasn't so grand, but we tried it again and are now hooked!!
