Will I like Carnival Liberty after 5 Disney cruises?

Up until this point we have done a couple of Disney cruises and a few RCCL cruises. Although we are HUGE disney fans and although our Disney cruises were very nice, we preferred RCCL for activity and food. What made our Disney cruises special were the shows and the fact that you went to a different restaurant every night.

Like you, we are also giving Carnival a first time try this summer on the Liberty and are looking forward to it. We LOVED our RCCL cruises, but since our oldest is starting college soon our vacation budget had to be cut back since we have 3 more children right behind her. One of the things we like best about Carnival is their various port selection. After doing the same ports over and over again we needed a change.

We plan on trying Carnival with an open mind and will try very hard not to compare to RCCL and are hoping for a pleasant surprise since we do not want to totally give up cruising during the "college years". Who knows...maybe we will find a new favorite cruiseline. :)

Hope you have a great cruise and please come back and share your experience with us!

One thing that I'm reading about Carnival is that the food is better everywhere else except the MDR. Is this correct?

Our family thinks CCL's MDR food is better than Disney's. The buffets (IMHO) are about the same. However, Disney's Palo brunches are still above and beyond all the other meals we've had on all of our cruises.:) The steakhouses on Carnival though, are not to be missed!
