Halloween cruise

I was on a Halloween cruise a couple years back and a bunch of people dressed up. They had a big costume contest in the atrium and the promenade was all decorated. We didn't bring costumes because Carnival never said they were doing anything for Halloween. They should encourage people to bring costumes but people won't fill their luggage if they don't know its happening.

We did the Panama Canal over Halloween a few years ago on Celebrity Infinity. A fair number dressed up, but it was not promoted ahead of time. There was a party, and the entertainer dressed up. There were only 5, yes five, kids on the ship. The staff members took them trick-or-treating around the ship. It was really cute.

OUr first cruise was a Halloween cruise on the Sensation, lots of people dressed up, there was a parade of costumes, and then the best costumed people were picked to participate in a contest, the audience voted via applause to see who won. We had a great time, in fact DH wants to do another Halloween cruise next year. He went as Marc Anthony-he looked sooo cute in that toga!:D

We loved our Halloween cruise so much last year, that we decided to do another this year. There were lots of themed activities throughout the day on Halloween. There were even Halloween-inspired desserts that night in the MDR.

They did the parade of costumes on the Promenade Deck. We grabbed a chair and watched. There were easily 300 - 350 people dressed up. The entertainment staff picked the top 50 and gave them slips of paper. Then it was time for the costume contest in the threatre. The contestants were whittled down to the top ten and then they voted by audience applause.

It was great fun! I would encourage everyone to try a Halloween cruise! :)
