Will a passport card work for a closed end Vancouver cruise or do I need a regular passport??

I assume you are from the US ?

 

If so..... IF it will get you into Canada and BACK into the US the answer is yes. UNLESS your cruise line wants something else.

if you're then going to take a land crossing from Canada to the USA, yes. By sea you need (for a US citizen)

 

• proof of citzenship
  
• govt issued photo ID
  
• correct documentation to go home (to the USA)
  

The passport card fulfills 1&2, and assuming you're going by land to the USA, #3 as well. If you intend to fly from Canada to the USA, you'd need a full passport, as that's the requirement to reenter the USA by air.
