Anything New on Pride of America?

Its been a while since I have read or even looked for any news of this ship. What is going on and when will it be ready to cruise?

I wasn't even aware that they were booking cruises for the Pride of America yet. But, I've kind of been out of the loop.

Last I saw in local newspaper was summer of '05.

I'm sailing n the first California 4 nt. coastal cruises THIS MONDAY, June 7th! I've heard they removed the casino and replaced it with conference rooms. Other tha the new bright logo of fowers painted on ship I really don;t know what other hanges have been made, but I WILL know in a couple of days! I do know that I've been calling and calling about PAYING for an upgrade and they say the entire ship is sold out.

The Pride of America is available for booking as of May 1, 2005. The Pride of Aloha will still be doing seven day sailings inter-island at the same time.

OH, I thought the Prife of Aloha would be doing the shorter sailings from CA until moving to hawaii on July 4th, anyway, I'm on NOT on Pride of America!

I am a cruise agent, and the Pride of America is indeed available for booking as of May 1, 2005. At a going away luncheon aboard the Star here in Honolulu last month our inside sales manager at NCL told us that both ships will be doing 7-day inter-island itineraries until further notice.

Just the person I am looking to ask a couple of questions, since you are a T.A.

 

I am interested in booking an inter-island itinerary, perhaps the Pride of America, but not yet, maybe in a couple of years. (Need lots of time to save $$)

 

I would like to start doing some research on the islands/things to do, etc. Do you have some travel books that you could recommend.

I really like the Unofficial Guide to Cruises. It is very thorough and has many recommendations that are off the beaten path for each itinerary. For Hawaii, there is a guide called "the Maverick Guide to Hawaii" which many visitors like, but be wary of their swimming/snorkeling recommendations---some of the areas they send people to can be dangerous at certain times of the year. I will list the Pride of America's itineraries for 2005 as soon as my booking engine recovers---it's feeling a bit peaked at the moment . Just called NCL and spoke to Inside sales, pride of america is not yet open for bookings. I dont know who told you this but I challange you to try to make a booking and see what happens.

I have tried booking Pride of America on all the online travel sites for next summer(AUG) and it is impossible to do so.

I'm having trouble even getting info for Pride of Aloha for next summer.

We were able to book Pride of America back in Feb. of this year for May 22, 2005 on Cruisequick. Later the availablility began to disappear from NCL' site & some of the other online sites. The Pride of Aloha began to show up for May 2005. I inquired about this with Cruisequick & NCL. Soon we received a confirmation that our booking had been changed to the Pride of Aloha. Although we looked forward to sailing the Pride of America, we were satisfied with the cabin & price we received in the re-booking. I have looked around & it seems that Pride of Aloha is still the only option for May 2005. I don't know about June and after.

This week I was told by NCL booking agent that they do not expect Pride of America in service until Fall of 2005 at the earliest.

I have the ability to book the Pride of America cruises starting on May 1, 2005 through my consortiuum's propriatory booking engine which connects directly to the cruisline's booking engine. I was invited by the District Sales Manager of our region, who will be giving a seminar to agents such as myself on board the Pride of Aloha on Sunday, to begin booking as the Pride of America will be in service as of that date. The fact that this person and that person has told you differently does not alter this fact, up to and including NCL booking agents, who are often not up to date on their information, particularly those working the general sales desk.

I hope you tell your clients not to book non-refundable air. Last formal notice NCL had not yet decided where the work will be done on the ship. Still working the claim. Not sure how anyone can set a firm date yet.

aambard I suggest you try to book the pride of america and see what happens, im pretty sure my sources are more reliable than your consiurtuim.

 

Everyone that says it is open has not come up with one booking...
