Luggage in Seward

We are going to take Budget Queen & GlacierLady's advice on using the Alaska RR from Anchorage to Seward - not through the cruise line - so we can get there early & do the Kenai Fjords 1/2 day boat tour. What can we do with our luggage until time to board the ship? We are on RCI Vision of the Seas. And how far from the cruise ship dock do we get off of the train? Thanks for all your help.

Kenai Fjords Tours will store your luggage for you but with all the promoting of that the queen has done they just might reconsider soon..lol

 

The train depot is 2 blocks from the small boat harbor where all the boat tours start and the cruise ship terminal is a long 1/2 mile partially gravel crossing from the depot.Opposite directions.

 

My suggestion(if the cruise line isn't going to take care of it for you as they sometimes do) is taking a taxi to drop off your luggage at the ship(won't be able to check in yet but can drop luggage anytime in the bin to have it delivered to your cabin.)Then taxi over for your wildlife cruise.If a group 1 person can go with luggage to drop and the rest walk over for wildlife cruise.Just make sure all is tagged with cabin # before placing in bin.The walkers will beat the short 2 block bus shuttle!

Thank You! We are very excited about our 1st ( and I'm sure not our last) visit to Alaska. Have had family in Anchorage for quite a few years now & we are finally making the trip. We will be in Seward the 9th of September. I appreciate all of the information you & BQ give us! Planning is almost as fun as the trip!
