Best time to Eat with Kids on Independence of the Seas Canary Islands Cruise

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am sailing on the Independence of the Seas canary island cruise in May and am wondering what is the best time to book for dinner? I have a young son and wondered what time generally the show/entertainment starts in the evening so I could plan eating before going to the show - any advice would be great.

If you have a young son book first sitting. The shows are at 9.00 for first sitting guests, and 10.45 for second sitting guests. This was the case 2 years ago, so it may have changed since.

Hi , when we cruised with young children we were on my time dining and chose to eat early at 6-30pm , that way we managed to see the later show , there are usually two shows one is early around 7 pm to accommodate late dining seating and the other around 9 pm to accommodate early dining seating , I take it you are my time dining as you have to choose either early , late or my time dining when you book your cruise .just wondering if you have checked on the roll call forum for your particular sailing , you sometimes get some good tips and advice for your particular cruise .I am not certain what the earliest time for my time dining is but I think it's around 6-30 pm , I think early dining seating starts at 6 pm .

Sorry I may be wrong with my info , I thought there was an early show around 7 pm , but thinking about it you are more likely right about the timings .

I have just checked some cruise compass's for Indy and it's showing that there are two show productions a night , but some nights the shows are 7 pm and 9 pm and other nights they are 9pm and 10-45 pm , so I would say early seating would be ideal for you .

Your best bet is the Family My Time dining option. It's scheduled for the first sitting, whatever time that is on your particular cruise. They guarantee to get the kids out in 45 minutes at which time a representative from Adventure Ocean picks them up at the entrance to the Main Dining Room. You can then continue your dinner leisurely. It really works well and everyone is happy.
