Excursions

I'm not seeing many choices when it comes to excursions for Belize on Carnival's website. I definitely want beach, snorkel, kayak time. Is Bannister Island the only place available? I'm not hearing many good reviews. Can you tender to port, grab a taxi and get to a beach? We have our own snorkel equipment. All adults, no children in our group.

There is no beach in Belize where you can catch a cab and go to a beach. Here is a link for a reliable excursion company to book with outside the ship. We used them this past Feb. to go to Goff's Caye.

Here is another recommended company in Belize that I have read good reviews. Snorkeling in Caye Caulker.

The reason you aren't seeing many options is because they aren't many options. You may want to so a search in the search bar at the top with something like "Belize snorkeling or beaches". There is a lot of threads about this question. There are simply no beaches in Belize. A beach day with snorkeling is best for another port. Belize is different from what your other stops will be like and you should plan ahead.

The coral reef has stopped the pounding of the waves from creating a beach near the vicinity that the cruise ships stop. Goff's Cay, which is no longer a Carnival excursion was loveley for snorkeling, But so many snorkelers was ruining the reef, and Carnival stopped taking swimmers there. The outer Cay's will provide the best beaches(the Cay's are outer islands that are part of the reef system) but you are on your own there and if you are worried that you would not get back to the ship in time, you may want o consider the ruins or cave tubing. the city of Belize doesn't get great "safety reviews". Stick with an excursion, and you should do fine.

There are beaches in the southern part of the country, but you are no where near them.

Goff's Caye Beach and Snorkeling sounds like a wonderful place to visit.

Can someone confirm that the snorkeling is not good any longer?

Also, if anyone has done this excursion with using this:

Can you please confirm how crowded it was?

Thanks,

That is the company we used to book Goff's Caye. There was probably about 30 people on our excursion. While we were at the island a couple other small boats came with maybe 10 people total between the 2 boats. There is not much for places to sit other than a towel on the sand. A few picnic tables (rustic). We had a very enjoyable day. This was our first snorkeling so I can't comment if the snorkeling is not good.

We am crusing on the Carnival Legend to GC,Cozumel,Belize,Roatan June 10. There are 2 couples (early 60's) and two 18-yr-old boys (graduation trip). Two of our party of 6 have snorkeled once before, one is claustrophobic and none of us want cave tubing (not that adventursome!). We don't think the boys would enjoy the ruins. We are booked for the Stingray tour in GC. We want to do a good tour in Belize, but cannot find anything that sounds good... Any recommendations??? THANK YOU!

carnival does offer a beach and snorkel excursion for 69$ but in the details it does not say where exactly it is going. but the reviews are all 4star. so if snorkel and beach is what you want this may be the option.
