Caribe Hilton vs. Intercontinental precruise

I can't comment on the Caribe Hilton since I have never seen this hotel, but the Intercontinental is a really great hotel. I have stayed here twice pre-cruise and would stay here again. The Intercontinental is located on Isla Verde beach which is a nice long public beach. The hotel has a large free form pool with swim up bar and waterfall. There is also a large hot tub next to the pool. The Intercontinental is within walkiing distance of other hotels, restaurants and shops. The hotel has a casino and several restaurants including a Ruth's Chris steak house. The rooms are very nice and in good shape. I would not hesitate to stay here. Have fun deciding where to stay : )

2nd the Intercontinental. Probably a few more $$ than the Caribe but definitely a nicer area and beach. It probably depends on how long your pre-cruise stay is. Any more than a day and I would definitely opt for the Intercontinental.

We stayed 4 days precruise last time in the Wyndham El San Juan right next to the Intercontinental. Great beach, pools and restaurants in the area. The hotels also have a casino.
