the Med. in may????

getting ready to begin booking brilliance for a may 06 med. cruise but im wondering about the weather there in may....im in need of warm weather and sunny sky by the time may rolls around. i hope some of you are in the know about this concern!

Use the Trip Planner at http://www.wunderground.com to check historical averages for May, e.g., Cannes = 67 high, 58 low, Rome = 72 high, 55 low.

 

If that's warm enough for you, you will enjoy seeing the Med with fewer tourists and shoulder season pricing.

I just answered this question in the thread "Italy in August"! LOL! I personally prefer May, and I leave for my Med cruise on Thursday.

I did Splendor of the Seas last May29th and the weather was great. The only rain we saw was on our tour to Florence and that was a early morning rain. I define Europe in May as the almost perfect time to go because you miss the summer crowds and the weather is very pleasant.

By the way I have been waiting for the release of the Brillance early rates for 2006 and will be interested in cruising late May of 2006. Tim

We did Rome to Southampton early last May and had a great time. We did have rain in Rome and Florence, but not having to deal with any crowds made it all worthwhile.

Hi Dean & Alice,

 

We did the Med in May of 03 and the weather was beautiful, high 60s to mid 70s. Rome seemed almost too warm at 80. Here's some maps and pictures.
