Manhattan Port. Any Park/Cruise Hotels?

kicker

Recommended Posts

Looking at a May cruise out of Manhattan. Parking is $35 per night at the pier.

Any hotels that have parking deals? I think we'd save money even staying outside the city and finding other ways to the port. Any suggestions? Looked thru 3 pages on here but couldn't find any info.

Thanks.

The park/cruise hotels for the Manhattan port are at Newark Airport. Look at stay123.com for Country Inns (about $150 incl tax), trinityreservations.com for Fairfield Inn and Ramada ($138 and $112) tax included. You can book a car service to the port (expensive) or go back to the airport terminal and take the bus to Port Authority ($27 round trip) and cab to the pier ($10). Train for $12.50/pp is also an option from Newark Airport Station (hotel shuttle to P4 and monorail to the station) or cab to Newark Penn Station ($20-25) + $5/pp to New York Penn Station - then cab to the pier ($12-15).

I did a park/cruise at the Fairfield and liked it as well. They had a spacious lobby area that was good to hang out in (Country Inns has almost no lobby). If you don't want to use the airport bus, there is a number on the trinity web site to call for transportation - Independent Driver. This is about the least expensive transportation we have found in the area and they may quote you a price to NYC that you can live with.

If you pick the Fairfield, be sure to PRINT OUT their directions from their web site and follow them exactly. You don't want to rely on GPS in that area and if you miss the turns, you will be able to see the hotel and not get there. The Newark Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, and Springhill Suites share a single right lane exit from routes 1 & 9. Once off the ramp you have to go around the Courtyard to the back of the property and swing back to get to the Fairfield.
