We had a great family cruise on the Conquest last week. Embarcation went well. We actually got on board earlier than usual. New Orleans is also an easy port to park at and to get checked in. The food was really good this cruise. We did anytime dining with a group of 7 and we never had to wait for a table. On 6 of the nights we had the same wait team and they were really attentive and helpful. We had 3 small children in our group too. Our cabin steward team were also really wonderful. We had 2 cabins and they were immaculate when we arrived and the service was great all week. We especially enjoyed the fish options at lunch at the fish and chips location. The fried oysters were yummy! We are platinum cruisers and had not had the fried oysters before. The little pub was a nice addition too to sit and relax in for a few moments. The Carnival microbrew beer was $5.50 for a 24 ounce glass and we thought that was a reasonable price. It is a red beer with a hint of sweetness. It has a nice flavor. Tea time is offered on sea days and the variety of cakes and treats was really diverse. There was a lot of choice. The chocolate cake was delicious. The coffee shop also offered large slices of cake for $2.25. They looked great but we were too full to try them. The sushi before dinner was also yummy and of course free. I'm not a big fan of the pizza but my kids loved it. The calzones were okay. The chocolate buffet was yummy on the last sea day. We normally buy pop cards=stickers but this time we brought on 2- 12 packs of diet pepsi. We prefer pepsi. We also brought 2 bottles of wine. You can ask for wine glasses at bars too.

The kids really enjoyed Camp Carnival. It is run really well with many different activities and our kids all really had a good time. On this ship they had a camp talent show in the Show lounge. The kids had such fun on stage.

The shows were good and the music entertainment was very good. The CD was a really jovial Englishman who seemed like a great guy. The gym was excellent with a lot of equipment. We didnot use the spa services but it was a beautiful location. The gift shop had the typical CCL stuff but I did get several kid t shirts on mark down and 2 womans shirts for a great price. I also bought some men's t shirts and some silver jewerly. I thought the prices were very reasonable. We went to the art auctions and bought 2 pieces of art by artists that we collect. These purchases were also quite reasonable in price. The photo staff was excellent and took time in trying to get 3 kids to smile all at the same time. We bought several photos because they were really great photos of the kids.

I usually play in the slots tournament in the casino but didn't this time. I played slots and it was never overly crowded. I played early but I could always find the machine of my choice.

The only negatives were that the pools could be alittle crowded on sea days but we always found chairs and the kids really enjoyed the pools. Everything was very clean on this ship and the staff seemed to really care about you. Our family enjoyed the putt putt golf too and we never had to wait to play.

The only other negative in my opinion was when we arrived at Cozumel it became very crowded in the area around the elevator area and steps down to the gangplant in trying to get off the ship for tours. We have never experienced that much confusion. We almost missed our tour. People on tours were in a line and then lots of folks came down the steps and elevators so it was a crowd. Alittle more direction would have been helpful.

We did tours at each of the ports and really enjoyed the tours.

Debarcation went quickly and smoothly. It was a great cruise.

Can I ask you a few questions? We are sailing on the Conquest in August with our 6 and 8 year olds. Don't suppose you have copies of the Camp Carnival schedule you could share do you?

What are the ages of your kids?

What excursions did you do?

Did you stay in New Orleans before or after your cruise? I have been researching hotels that offer a park and cruise rate and my head is beginning to spin LOL
