Does Serenity area allow women to sunbath topless?

I remember when topless was allowed. Years ago after doing 2 NCL cruises I booked my first Carnival cruise. I like to explore the ships and without knowing (no really) stumbled upon a topless lady by the smoke stack. At that time I didn't know topless was allowed and I was really surprised. Fast forward a few years: I organized a cruise for a few high school buddies and our wives, and while downloading a bucket of beer with the guys mentioned that experience. One guy practically disappeared for the next 7 days. Years later we were at a HS renunion when the cruise came up and he confessed that he got a lot of pictures of the woman. The sick @#$$@#%# is lucky he didn't get caught and kicked off the boat.

LOL!

Ahh... so you buddy was one of those men - on the upper deck - "looking for Cuba". I had heard about those guys ;)....

Some people are just so good at the snarkiness it shows up

in most of their post.

Other people like to just jump in and tell you something you

should do like go on a nude cruise, topless beach or whatever

but in being in such a rush they don't read the part where you said

that you were not interested in that because of your children.

Then there are the ones that think if someone is not a "10" they

should never think about such a thing even on your own balcony.

I hope you have a great cruise

Agree! You'd think that the poor women asked some kind of perverse question. Is there a topless area on the boat? No? Ok great, thanks.

Instead this is somehow a shocking question DESPITE the fact that there WAS such a section not all that long! Not so unreasonable to ask then, huh? Sheesh.

yep, typical cruise critic rude responses. People hide behind there key boards and shoot insults to the OP that asked a very reasonable question. I remember well the tops optional deck. It was not that long ago...

So basically the answer to the OP was no you can't. Yet once again it takes page after page after page of non-information and rude responses! OP, hopefully you have your answer. Have a great cruise!

Over the past 2 years I have transformed myself.

I had a health scare that really set me straight.

Diet, Running and Weight training. I am so proud of my transformation.

I feel great and i finally have a figure. No plastic surgery, just real hard work.

I am not TROLLING looking for a problem, I just asked a simple question.

but i guess you guys would have no way of knowing that.

They are just Boobs, but they are mine. And my question is real. Im not someone looking for attention, just someone who is comfortable in there own skin.

The question was a logical one, not a crazy one. We go yo Vegas 2x each year. I have gone topless in the Eden pool at Ceasars & the Wynn.

But it was too hot to stay out long enough to tan.

I figured the cruise would be a perfect place to do so. While the kids are in the camp Mom & Dad can be adults for a couple of hours. Would not do this on a port of call, because the kids would be with us.

Is this more realistic now? You would think I really asked an outlandish question.

Where are you cruising to? (sorry if answered I didn't read the whole thread) I am also interested in topless sunbathing and that is one of the main reasons we chose the cruise we did. We are going to St. Martin/Orient Beach. It is not a "display" thing. I would just simply like a nice tan on my top. I think some folks make it a perverse thing.

Rydan, I will check this out as I am cruising next week. I'm with you all the way sister. Never mind the haters. There are lots of men nobody wants to see topless, but it's their choice if they don't want to cover up. Why isn't it our choice? After all, it's just skin. I just hope I don't get keelhauled.

I thought Carnival had a topless area, One would think the Adults only serenity area would allow that. But I dont understand two of the responses of

Seriously?

&

No, thank goodness? try a tanning bed, ( Tanning beds make you look like you are an Oompa-loompa form Willy Wonka.

I dont get that responses at all.

The casino is also adults only, can't go topless there as well.

OK, that was funny. :D

Sorry OP, Most cruisers on the ships are Americans which sadly means nudity is somehow bad......

All for topless and there was a topless deck on Elation when I sailed her in '07. It was mainly dancers up there, and MY MOM:eek:. It was fine and I don't know why they d/c'd it as many ships that cater to a European market have them- it's not the end of the world .

That's funny my kids in laws are from Europe and would take them to the riviera, etc. they never though twice that grandma or anyone else was topless..it was more about grandpa in is his underwear....speedo.

They just played in the sand and waves and had a great time. Of course now seeing the videos they are like omg that's gmas tatas :)

We see it all the time on islands and never give it a second thought....or look. Well mb the boys do now???? Omg they are ruined!!!

Sorry...just saw were OP said she did not want to tan topless on a beach. My bad...

Either way I wish it was still allowed as well. If others do not wish to see topless sunbathers, then they could just stay away from that area.

Congrats on transforming your body into something you are proud of!! Ignore the rude people on here, they have nothing better to do but try and make other people miserable. Have a great cruise, just get a balcony and lay out there topless. So there is no need to worry about up tight people or chair hogs..:p

To all,

1) I did not ask a question to be labeled a pervert.

2) My husband & I share one account on this board (although the FBI agents on this board think they figured me out)

3) I'm am in no way a nudist, It's not my thing. There is a stark contrast between going topless and exposing your genitals. in public.

4) I would not take off my top just to be a rebel and draw attention to myself. I only asked if it was allowed.

5) My cruise goes to Nassau, HMC & Grand Turk. as far as I know those ports do not allow topless sunbathing on the beaches.

6) We have a balcony cabin, but it is under the overhand not much sun.

7) If my kids see me topless at home it would be for a second. Sunbathing topless in front of my kids would make me very uncomfortable.

8) To the handful of posts that really had my back or answered my original question. I thank you for that.

9) thank goodness I did not ask if jeans were ok in the MDR, I would have been thrown off CC.

Rydan, your question was answered over and over with very little drama and yet you still felt the need to post an epic account of why you care to sunbathe topless, what you didn't like about peoples answers, etc. And now the above post^^ Really? And seriously?

rydan,

Half Moon Cay has no regulations that I'm aware of against topless; just go down past the crowds beyond the cabanas and you'll be nearly alone most of the time. Go even further and you'll be alone all of the time.

Grand Turk and Nassau both likely have topless beaches, but none that I'm aware of.

The serenity area may be where you had planned to go topless, but seriously find yourself a location away from the crowds and do as you please; I've seen it done many times and nobody bothered them that I noticed. Granted I did not sit nearby and watch for something to happen, but when you see them on different days doing the same thing then you have to assume that nobody told them not to.

I dont see what the big deal is. I personally wouldnt have a problem with allowing topless sunbathing in the adults only area. I dont think Id do it, but wouldnt have a problem with others doing it if they chose and it was allowed. I see a lot of men no one wants to see topless, yet they are allowed to choose whether or not to wear a top. A lot of bikini tops dont cover very much anyhow, what is the big deal? OMG..

I dont see why everyone is attacking the OP for asking this question. .............. OMG..

jlk806,

Care to quote the posts you feel are attacks and count them? Most are offering advice and answers. I have seen many attacks here on CC, and frankly this isn't an attach thread .........yet, but the more people mention attacks, the more likely they are to occur.

OP has not been attacked, it's odd that she would like for you to think she has been though.

Most responses were matter of fact, cute or funny, trying to be helpful or supportive, etc. This sort of question is going to generate a wide spectrum of answers and opinions, it does not mean she was attacked.

I know one poster on here has a photo in the sig line of the plaque that showed where the topless area was on the ships.

Several years ago that was the FUNNEL Deck . . . the highest passenger deck on some of the older ships.:D

. . . and, as usual, most of those interested in it were Americans trying to act cool and European. Frustrated husband "sneaking" up there for a peek. Living in So Cal, one would easily find this relatively tame and, quite frankly, borish behavior. :(

Wanting to eliminate the tan lines is so overused and weak.

I have great boobs. I really do. I have been told many a time. I will not sunbathe in public topless. I will tan at a booth in nothing and will often take straps down so I do not get lines. In the American society it is not ok to sunbathe topless. If you would not do it in front of your kids then why would you risk doing it in front of other people children

I don't think the op is trying to have people believe she is getting attacked. I see many post that they don't know why she's getting attacked. Others' posts should not be a reflection on her.

And BTW...if there were an adults only area where one could sunbathe topless there would be no risk of kids seeing it. Alas, there is no such area. Doesn't sound like op is that passionate about her topless sunbathing to risk tramatizing the little ones.

Finally, I don't think her three posts in 4 pages of replies is excessive. She may not be getting "attacked" but the underlying tone of some of the posts is less than desirable.
