Summit-Top 40 Music?

Very excited about our first Celebrity cruise next week! My concern is that we won't have a place to dance to some top 40 as it sounds like the nightclub plays Latin style music. Has anyone been on Summit lately and can share their experience t the disco?

Thanks

Just got back and the lack of Top 40/dance music before 11pm was one of the few comments I made on the guest feedback sheet! We loved the cruise and the summit and had a great time, but there was a no-man's land timeframe between about 8-11pm where the venues all seemed to be playing older music (ballroom-50's & 60's, 70's dance (fusion), acoustic guitar, steelpan (great!), and latin guitar (lively & good)) but if you were just looking for some current music, it was missing. At 11:15, a DJ starts up - but we weren't out that late.

How did you like the entertainment and the bars on Summit (other than the lack of current music).

This was our first cruise so I don't have much to compare it to, but the entertainment and bars on Summit were pretty sedate. That said, we had a limited time when we were out - we had kids who went to Fun Factory right after dinner for an hour or two, so we were usually looking for a venue to have a drink from 8-10pm. This is sort of a dead timezone since it's when the 2nd dinner seating is going on and the show/entertainment is happening in the theater, so the other venues are pretty quiet.

There were 3 signing/dancing production shows - the first two were ok (good dancing, but singing & plot were not as strong), the third was the best. We didn't see the entertainment for the "off" nights (a ventriloquist and a musician), but others traveling with us (in their 60's) did and enjoyed them.

The bars had nice spaces, but it was difficult to find somewhere that played current music/had a current vibe before 11pm. The music gets younger as the night goes on but unfortunately we were done by about 10pm and the DJ doesn't start until 11. Revelations is the forward observation bar/nightclub. That has the best ambiance for a night out dancing, but DJ doesn't start until 11pm - before then it's the party band and the 50's-60's/ballroom music. Our favorite was the sunset bar on the aft deck - steelpan music plus watching the wake and the stars. Michael's Club was cozy and had acoustic guitar and latin guitar which were good. We didn't hang out much in the Martini bar (lively before dinner) or casino so can't comment.

All that said, we had a great time and would definitely go again on Celebrity and on Summit.
