dengirl69 Posted April 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2012 I am wondering if I can put my deposit down using one credit card then another to to off balance when it's time and do I need either cc to get on ship? I'd rather not use or take either after deposit and balance pay off
cuyahoga11 Posted April 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2012 Yes, you can use different cards for deposit and balance. If you are going to use cash to back your S&S card, then you do not need a credit card to get on the ship.
NLuvWthCruisn Posted April 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2012 I used 2 cc to pay our deposit. Half on both. Basically the PVP said we can use as many cc's as we like to pay for the cruise. You won't need a CC on the ship as long as you give them their required amount of cash up front to put on the S&S card.
CanadianCruiser123 Posted April 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Would it be a good idea to inform the credit card company of your cruise plans so that they don't stop payment on purchases in countries that just don't normally make transactions in? I always notify the cc company when I am traveling, even if I am not leaving the country.

I'd rather not use or take either after deposit and balance pay off As others have said, you won't need a cc on board. If something out of the ordinary were to happen where you needed to spend a bunch of money, would you have a way to cover it without a cc? I don't really neeed an answer, but something to think about.
ATL2LAS Posted April 17, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2012 If you are looking at not taking a credit card, you might want to purchase the funship dollars. That way you can use them for your onboard account.
Chigirlcruzin Posted April 17, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2012 I always notify the cc company when I am traveling, even if I am not leaving the country. I do, too, ever since my cell phone started ringing at 5am in Vegas after I went on a shopping spree there! We just got back to the room about 30 minutes earlier too! I don't really neeed an answer, but something to think about. I take Am. Express with me. Don't leave home without it. In case of an emergency (which could run in the thousands) it is a good idea to have it. I am not talking about a few thousand, but much more and yes, I have insurance, but then when would that kick in?
Room Service! Posted April 17, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2012 I agree that it's a good idea ... you just never know.
CRUISE4JANE Posted April 17, 2012 #12 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Yep, like they say, "Don't leave home without it". I always have it with me when I travel....................peace of mind. :)
CRUISE4JANE Posted April 17, 2012 #13 Share Posted April 17, 2012 I have never notified my Am. Express when I travel, but after being here on CC, I will. :)
