First cruise on Carnival, couple questions

Very excited to try Carnival next month! Just have a couple questions (for now!) If I buy Fun Ship dollars can I use it in the casino? Are they basically like pre-purchasing OBC? Speaking of the casino, I read that there is no "players card" and that you just use your S&S card for points and that your winnings go on your card - so their machines don't give you a voucher when you cash out?

Is the dining room open for lunch on embarkation day? We usually try to avoid the buffet that day so if the dining room isn't open is there anyplace else to grab some lunch besides the buffet?

Can you view your account on your TV?

TIA!

It has been my experience that the dining room has not been open for lunch on embarkation day. Depending on the ship, you have other food options besides the buffet. They have a pizza station, some have a deli, mongolian wok, burrito station, etc.

Also, I think it vaires by ship whether or not you can view your account on hte tv.

Sorry, can't answer your other question. Maybe someone else can.

Can't answer the Funship dollars question, we've never purchased those. But the other casino question, yes, you set up an account using your S&S card (it's in a different 'bank' than your main S&S account tho) and you put your winnings back on the card if you win, no vouchers. You can immediately go to the casino cashier to cash out or leave it there to use for next time you play, and then cash out at the end of the cruise, which is what we do. It's easy to set up the account, you use your birthdate and a short password.

The MDR is not open on embarkation day, only the buffet, pizza, deli, etc. Not completely sure about the Miracle, but you can view your account on her sister ships we have been on, Spirit and Pride, so I would assume so.

Thanks for the casino explanation, I was worried we'd "play away" our OBC but if it's separate that'll be fine:)

It's a completely separate account, BUT you can transfer funds from your main S&S to your casino S&S, but we never do that, it's our own rule!

That's good to know, that's why I asked about the funship dollar things, I was thinking of getting some to have some casino money already waiting for us. I researched some more and it seems like that's all funship dollars are is OBC, so that would work out well being able to transfer the money. Thanks again!
