vacruizer Posted April 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2012 You can't price match to a pack n go since it's a guarantee cabin and they could put you in the lowest category balcony. That would be considered a downgrade which isn't allowed under ES. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago where there was a pack n go for our sailing that was very inexpensive. To match for ES you have to have a actual category rate for yours or higher. Sounds like you are on a Spirit class ship since you have a 8k booked - keep in mind those guarantee pack n go rates also include obstructed balconies. mondello Posted April 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2012 Not able to have your cake and eat it, too. They will honor the lower price but you must be willing to give up your chosen cabin for a guarantee cabin that comes with P-N-GO.

old sole Posted April 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2012 No, you aren't. ES guarantees you the lowest rate advertised for your specific category (8K in your case). Pack & Go is a balcony guarantee rate (or inside or OV), and is not associated with any specific category. Since ES rules do not permit downgrades you cannot switch down per the rules but some people have been permitted to match the category guarantee rate if they go into the guarantee pool. That would mean giving up your cabin though.
DnR Posted April 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2012 I got it. I booked an ES 8D balcony cabin #8288 and put in for OBC and got it.
cvrap Posted May 2, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 2, 2012 So what if you're booked in a cove balcony, 7C, and the pack and go is for balcony? What might happen?;)
