tahitidreamer1 Posted April 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Can anyone help with questions about luggage and transfers ? Will be on American Airlines. What happens with luggage when arriving at Vancouver airport and transfering to Ryndam using HAL transfers ? What happens with luggage when arriving at Seward and transfering to Anchorage airport using HAL morning train transfer ? I have seen that in some cases your luggage is sent from the airport to the ship and from ship to airport depending on your airline. dakrewser Posted April 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2005 You'll need to retrieve your luggage and go thru customs in both places. Then you give it to the bus people (watch that it gets on the bus. Then, at the other end, watch that it gets off!). On arrival your bus will deliver the luggage directly to the ship. In Alaska, you'll retrieve your luggage when you get off the bus.
tahitidreamer1 Posted May 19, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted May 19, 2005 thanks dakrewser would you use the luggage tags from hal before checking luggage at home airport or wait until getting luggage in vancouver (we will be on American Airlines thru DFW)... hal says that using the tags will get your luggage pulled by airline and sent to the port... have you or anyone on this board had any problems doing this. thanks for any help you can give me.... It used to be that way, but no longer. You get to pull your own luggage. Put the tags on then to be sure none get lost by the airline.
