Hopewell Rocks closed for season Oct 9

We arrive in port Oct 10th :(. So what if anything can we see other than watching the tides change at the bridge /Reversing Falls? Are there any other tourist spots with a good view or places to see the ocean floor and observe the tide rising?

Considering renting a car and doing our own thing

Hi , I grew up about 20 minutes from the Rocks. If you keep travelling past the Hopewell Rocks, you will arrive at Fundy Park (another half hour drive). At the entrance to the park, there is a nice rocky beach. When the tide is out, you can walk for miles. Once you enter the park, you drive to the top of a hill with a beautiful view....worth seeing!

There is also a place called Cape Enrage and the rocky cliffs are beautiful:

It is halfway between Hopewell Rocks and Fundy Park. It closes Oct. 8th, but you can still drive to the cliffs. Maybe I will have to mention to them that the tourist from the cruise ships would like to have the dates extended!

Hope you have fun seeing the sites! If you have any other questions, let me know!

When do you arrive and when do you leave?

A

Also, if you are travelling from Saint John to Fundy Park, St. Martins is also a nice place to visit. Wear a warm jacket though! It may be about an hour's drive from SJ.

thanks for the help! I was looking at St Martins and the Sea Caves--I think the kids would love being able to walk sea floor!

Oct 10 Wed

boat is in port 7a-4p so car rental places don't open til 8 and we have to be back on the boat by 3 is my understanding.

The tides for the day we are in port--

low tide 1:49am,

high tide 8:01am,

low tide 14:15,

20:25 high

I think we would be able to make it to St Martins by around 930-10am when the high tide is going out. Just not sure how much we can really stick around or if it is worth trying to rush to see? We would have start the drive back by 1pm to get the car returned and make it back to the ship and not leave much time for anything else? Doesn't allow for us to do much of anything it seems!!! :(

Are there any places closer with pretty cliffs or interesting topography/scenery? Maybe within a 30 min drive?

Would this park be a decent alternative that fits within our short time frame? The tidal pools look neat!

Hi, Yes you would enjoy the Irving Nature Park. I haven't been there lately, but I heard it was very nice. Have fun no matter what you decide. I hope the leaves on the trees are beautiful for you!

That is a short time in port and the tides times are not the best. You should be able to get your rental car delivered to the pier. I know Enterprise does this.

I will look into Enterprise esp if they deliver to the boat...that would save a bit of time in the morning.

The tide times really throw a wrench in the whole thing! I figure this will just be a good taste to get us to come back for a week in the area (fly up and stay) so I am sure it won't be only time in the Bay of Fundy.

St. Martins would be perfect with those tide times. You don't want the tide all the way in when you go there.
