Diving the Blue Hole

We're looking at taking our kids (24 and 21) on a Carnival cruise. My husband is an avid diver and would love to dive the Blue Hole. The ship will be in Belize from 8am to 5 pm, but I don't see any ship excursions going out to the Blue Hole to dive. Will there be time for a private excursion and if so, can anyone recommend a dive company? Thanks!

Blue Hole may be a little too far away from the ship to do a day trip there. :confused:

I was wondering that. I read that it's 60 miles.

Yes, too far. We've done an OI (on island) trip to Belize and it would have been an all day excursion. We didn't want to give up a whole day of vacation for a dive many told us was just basically to say you've done it?

 

Maybe next trip though. I want to say I've done it. :D

Thanks everyone! We'll skip the Blue Hole this trip. I think we'll do some ziplining and inner tubing through the caves instead :)
