Where's a good place for food & stone crabs

We're going to Key West in October and wanted to know of a restaurant with good food and has stone crabs.

The best and most reasonable place for stone crab within walking distance of the port is www.halfshellrawbar.com

 

Most places will have stone crab after season opens on October 15th; but if you want more than an appetizer size serving Half Shell is the place to go.

 

They serve more seafood than any other place on the rock.

Try the beach side bar at the Pier House, 1 Duval Street...

 

 

...but ask for Key Lime mustard instead of the sauses.

I agree with Half Shell. While they don't usually have stone crab, the seafood at Blackfin Bistro is great.

We really enjoyed the stone crabs at the Smokin' Tuna Saloon. It's just off Duval, definitely quieter and has great live music. Other seafood was tasty too!

Hog's Breath has a raw bar with stone crabs in their covered outdoor area. We like it because about noon or so there's a live performer playing Jimmy Buffet type music. A very enjoyable place to be! :)
