Bepday93 Posted May 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2005 My wife and I are going on the Crown next week. I know its a smaller ship. This will be my 2nd cruise. I hear Bermuda is beautiful. I hear some good things and bad things about the Crown. I dont mind that shes a smaller ship. Can anybody share their experience with the Norwegian Crown, It is my wife and my 12th anniversary and we hope we made a good choice:eek:
TxRose Posted May 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2005 Hi...we are going on the Crown on 6/12. Let us know how she was. I've heard some mixed reviews too. Have a great trip!
e.durban Posted May 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2005 Ah, there was a time, not so long ago, when 30,000+ tons wasn't such a small ship! ;) We're looking forward to the Crown in Sept, but we see her here regularly in NYC during the summer months and think she's lovely. Looking forward to your reviews. (She's just come out of drydock, btw, so at the very least bedspreads and other soft furnishings should be refreshed!) darkangel_55 Posted May 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2005 Just got off the Crown from Philly to Bermuda today. Going to be posting my "review" in a bit.....I should warn you now...it is probably going to be long so I get everything in. *~Pamela~*
tigre Posted May 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2005 Okay, I'll bite.... We just got off the ship when it repositioned in April....not our favorite ship by any stretch of the imagination. Overall, we were dissappointed in the ship. We had a suite (9008) and the cabin was in poor repair - definitely not worth the extra money. If you do a search on either 'Crown' or 'Tigre' in this forum, you'll find the two other times I've responded and included more detail about the pro's and con's of the ship. But in a nutshell, unless you are getting a smoking deal or the ports are the ones you really want to go to, I would not recommend the Crown. And it's not because it's a small ship, it's because of its poor repair in some areas and lack of value (ROI) for what we spent (and yes, we did get a great deal). It just did not compare to what we can get for less money on other ships. We've been on two other NCL ships (the Wind and the Norway) and both were in much better condition than this one was in. Sorry to be negative... tigre
