Any recommendations for long term parking by Newark Airport?

Our cruise leaves from Amsterdam and we'll be flying out of Newark. Looking for long term parking with airport shuttle. Thanks!

We've used newarkairportlongtermparking at 58 Frontage Rd Newark, NJ 07105

We were very pleased and preferred them over the McClellan spot. Just add a dot com to the end of that string of letters above and you'll find the website.

How many days parking are you looking for? You can get a good park/sleep for $112 tax inc. + 14 days parking. Probably $10 for an exta day. Parking in a gated hotel lot with security. That's $8/day.

Check on line for coupons & deals. We parked at the Parking Spot off McClellan (the vans look like well to be honest that someone "spotted them" in a not so nice way.). It was more expensive than I had been expecting but they bought up most of the lots.

Do you know of any hotels

by the cape liberty port that offer parking for 10 days and a shuttle to the cruise port?

There's no easy answer to this question. I see you're sailing June 21 and that there's been a lot of discussion on your roll call about parking and paint spray. The "big picture" at Newark airport is that there is a ton of transportation available in the area - it's a huge major airport - and any kind of parking is a valuable commodity. However, cruisers are a teeny part of the airport hotel business. Hotels which offer a cruise shuttle are often "fringe" hotels that we don't recommend for a variety of reasons. Newark is also a highly industrialized urban area and you must be selective about where you choose to ditch your car for 10 days, hence the concerns and discussions about Premier parking.

First of all where are you coming from? How many people? What's your budget? Currently we are recommending park/sleeps where you arrange your own transportation. You can substantially reduce this cost by getting together with others from your role call to share transportation.

Every choice has its pros and cons. Currently we have been recommending:

1) Fairfield Inn through trinityreservations.com - $144 tax incl for 6/20 with 14 days parking and free breakfast

2) Country Inns through stay123.com - $150 tax incl for 6/20 with 14 days parking and free breakfast

3) Ramada Plaza through trinityreservations.com (budget choice) - $117 tax incl with 14 days parking and no breakfast

For all of these you can arrange port transportation through Independent Driver - 888-816-0973 ext 0 - $40 for up to 4 people and $10/pp after that - this is a great deal if you can share the ride. They have shuttle vans that hold about 7 people plus small shuttle buses that hold about 20 people and probably more options in between. If you book the park/sleep for Country Inns you may be able to arrange port transportation directly with the hotel for $35/pp rt.

Another alternative is Hampton Inn on Staten Island - $186 incl tax with free parking and free breakfast and free shuttle to the port. However to get there you will have the $12 bridge toll and possibly more turnpike tolls depending on where you're coming from. This is more convenient if you're coming from the south - you can get off at exit 10 (saving some tolls) and go across Staten Island, but if you're coming from the north it's at least an extra 20 minutes added onto your drive time.

The other thing to remember is that if you arrange your own shuttle transportation, you can control the time you go and come from the port. When someone else arranges it for you, you are subject to their schedule and timing.

I've personally stayed at all three park/sleep hotels, but have left my car only at the Fairfield. Another consideration at EWR is that many hotels offer breakfast, but do not have a restaurant so you have to go out for dinner or order take out. This is the case with the Fairfield and Country Inns, but the Ramada does have a restaurant, cafe, and pub.
