purplemusik Posted May 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2012 So, writing my last REVIEW late made me think," Maybe someone might want to see my Destiny pictures too!" [ it also made me think," wow, maybe not many people care about the Inspiration" ] so I thought I'd do my honeymoon cruise review - even if it is almost 2 years later! Hubby and I were together 7 years before we got married. He never traveled growing up [ not even out of the state...Florida ] and had NEVER been on a cruise. His mom told me he's always wanted to go to Jamaica so I knew this had to be one of our stops.I had been to Jamaica once but the whole ship had the Norwalk virus and was too sick to see it. I had been on Canival one time [ YEARS before, my first cruise on the Tropicale ] and had only been on Disney [ my stepmom works for the cruiseline! ] and RCL since. I was a bit worried having been on the bigger/fancier ships for the past several years but we couldn't afford much and REALLY wanted to go to Jamaica so... I booked the Destiny 5 day out of Miami. [[ side note: I'm not into fancy things/etc. it's just that I felt like," wow, if hubby thinks THIS is nice- I wish he could see a bigger/newer ship! turned out better then anything - but...you'll see!]] So, hubby and I got married on June 4th and the cruise was June 5th-10th. I was 8 weeks pregnant and sick, sick, sick and the DAY OF OUR WEDDING, hubby woke up with an extreme allergy to penicillin and was put on high doses to counter-act it while he was on the cruise which meant we didn't go OVERBOARD[ no pun intended ] with activities but still had an amazing time. Here goes.... we left for Miami quite early because we like to get on the ship ASAP. We see the ship! We didn't wait too long to get on- maybe 30 minutes. We went right upto the Lido deck to eat. After we ate- we went out on deck to take in the scenery and hubby could see how big the ship really was. Hubby was stunned how far up we were

purplemusik Posted May 6, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted May 6, 2012 We had our luggage already so we unpacked then went upstairs for a drink [ mine was a virgin- don't worry! ] Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. We had anytime dining but requested the same server every night because he was great! Pork Chop Steak [ before I knew to order TWO ice creams! ] After dinner we walked around a bit. purplemusik Posted May 6, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted May 6, 2012 Next day...day at sea! Best days ever!! We got some sun right when we got up after a brief breakfast at the buffet. The view was wonderful! We laid out most of the day then went back to the room, watched some of the movies and took a nap before dinner. It was the captain's dinner that night so hubby was excited for lobster!
purplemusik Posted May 6, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted May 6, 2012 At dinner they surprised us with " Happy Honeymoon to yooooouuu" [ like Happy Birthday ' and instructed us to kiss every time they said honeymoon. After dinner we were lucky enough to catch the sunset! Then back to the room for our animal!

This is where we checked in and drank some juice before we went down to the water. we watched people swim with dolphins for a while while relaxing. purplemusik Posted May 6, 2012 Author #15 Share Posted May 6, 2012 [[ continue in Jamaica ]] After this- we took a van ride over to Dunn's River Falls. We did not climb the falls but watched people going in Then had to dodge everyone and their mother trying to sell us things. NOT only sell us things but try to trick us into getting things. For example: one guy came up and asked our names- hubby told them and before we knew it- he was back with two little tiki heads with our name carved on them[ an old name that wasn't ours-crossed out on one side of it!!! ] saying now we owed him for it. I would've laughed him off but hubby felt obligated to them and paid. We were exhausted by the time we got back to the boat but had a great time. purplemusik Posted May 6, 2012 Author #21 Share Posted May 6, 2012 [[ cont Grand Cayman ]] Turtle eggs [[ side note: they control the temp in here to control what sex the turtle is...under 84 degree is male, over is female We walked out of the turtle farm and walked across the street to wait for our group and took in this beautiful view OMGOSH! I'm a dork! I totally forgot we did the stringray swim on this one as well  Anyhow- we boarded the van and went straight to the boat. This is the 6.1 million dollar houses on the shore there [ don't worry- if you buy it- they throw in a free boat with a drive in boat garage ]
