pacarolinagirl Posted May 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2012 We will be in Antigua next week (YAY) & can't decided on what beach to spend our afternoon. We are doing the Segway tour in the morning & wanted to spend our afternoon on the beach. Which beach is the closest to the port, etc? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)
hammers Posted May 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2012 Hi, I can recommend Dickersons Bay beach. It was only a short (15 minutes) taxi ride from the port. I believe we paid US$5pp.
Karysa Posted May 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2012 We went to Deep Bay in the morning for $4 pp each way and Dickenson in the afternoon for $3 pp each way. We enjoyed both. Deep Bay was quieter with clearer water and non-motorized watersports and Dickenson is a livelier beach that is great for people watching and enjoying the many bars and restaurants. I think that Fort James beach is closest to the pier. I haven't been since 2007 but it was nice but not the cleanest then as it seemed to be where parties were held in the night. Pepperwood Posted June 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2012 When we did the Segway tour last year, it started and ended at Fort Beach. We were picked up at the pier, did the tour and stayed at the beach for several hours, then caught provided transportation back to the pier with the afternoon tour group. Fort Beach was beautiful, quiet, definitely not crowded (see ) and there was an open air restaurant (Miller's by the Sea) right there for lunch. If the Segway tours are based at the same location, Fort Beach is a good choice for the afternoon.
