Carnival Spa

Booked a cruise on the Liberty and plan on this being a "Spa event". I know most of the spa services are costly compared to home, but could some of you that use the spa give me some feedback on what services you used, if you liked/disliked it and if you thought it was a worth the price? I know that they have deals on some days, did you find it hard to get appointments at "good" times(late afternoon 3-5pm or early morning 9-11am) on these deals? Thanks for you feedback.

Massage, full body, expensive, not that great, not worth it. No other Spa experience for me.

Port days, cheaper rates. They also have a table on Lido deck most days, offering "deals".

I try and make it to the spa at least twice on each cruise. My favorite treatment was on the Liberty. I had a seaweed wrap done. They first put on the seaweed. Then while It was on me, about 40 minutes, they massaged my ankles/feet and then my head/neck. (Keep in mind, many people have had this done and did not get all that massaging done while the seaweed was on them. They just laid there with no other contact) You are in something like a wet table bed. You are floating on top of water. All the pressures off your body is gone.

Then, you get in the shower and are given a 30 minute massage. I think it was about a 2 hours long treatment. Not sure about the price, I am guessing around 150-200 dollars. They had a special on it that week.

Thanks for the info. This cruise is an all about me 7 day cruise and planning to spa 6 of those days starting with mani/pedi on day 2. I think I would really like the seaweed wrap. That hot stone massage sounds great too. There is nothing like a good beach day come back, do a massage, take a nap, shower, dinner, show or dance. DH will use my spa time doing things he likes to do, maybe I can talk him in to a couple's massage and he can always use a mani/pedi although he would never tell his friends LOL. It's going to be a great cruise!

Top to Toe, service OK but was done in the hair salon with dryers howling and carts rolling - not relaxing AT ALL.

Full body, very good and very professional. Not expensive compared to home spas. Special on port day.

Scalp massage, good not great.

Pick 3 - Excellent.

In my opinion, spa prices totally compare with home. Not sure why people think they are more? Certainly less than in Vegas spas.

Finally, the pressure to purchase product has gotten more and more ridiculous. I've been told I have skin with too many dead cells that needs a certain exfoliator, skin that is too dry that needs a certain lotion and skin that is too oily that needs a certain toner/astringent. Now, before I begin, I tell my "specialist" that I will give her $5 in addition to her 20% if she doesn't try to sell me anything. Really not the kind of thing I want to deal with when splurging to relax. It's like being at a car dealership with no customers.
